Big B urged to withdraw from pan masala ad by anti-tobacco organisation
A national anti-tobacco organization urged Bollywood superstar Amitab Bachchan to withdraw from advertising campaigns promoting Panmasala, saying that this move will help keep young people away from tobacco addiction. Shekhar Salkar, chairman of the National Tobacco Eradication Organization, said in a letter to Bachchan that medical research has proved that addiction to tobacco and pan masala can harm the health of citizens, especially the health of young people, and said that since he (Bachchan) he He is the government brand ambassador of the high-profile pulse polio campaign, and he should quit pan masala ads as soon as possible. “Pan (betel leaf) can directly cause cancer. Recent studies have shown that the substances in betel nut can be converted into carcinogens in the body, leading to oral cancer.”
