BJP Kisan Morcha to hold national executive meeting in Delhi today
The Bharatiya Janata Party Kisan Morcha will hold a national executive meeting in Delhi on Saturday as farmers’ protests against the center’s three new agricultural laws continue.The possible impact of farmers’ protests on elections to be held in different states next year may be discussed at the meeting.
Although the BJP national chairman JP Nadda will speak at the morcha meeting, the party’s national general secretary BL Santosh and the Union’s Minister of Agriculture Narendra Singh Tomar will also be present. The above-mentioned person as saying that the BJP may propose further plans for the ongoing agitation and increase political plans and agricultural decisions during the meeting.
The BJP Kisan Morcha meeting was of great significance after Lakhimpur Kheri. In the violent incident on October 3, 8 people including 4 farmers who protested against three new agricultural laws died. So far, 13 people have been arrested in this case, including Ashish, the son of Federal Minister Ajay Mishra. Since November last year, farmers have been protesting against agricultural laws.
Up to now, the peasant association has held 11 rounds of talks with the central government to reach a consensus on legislation, but the discussions have still been inconclusive. After widespread violence broke out at the farmer tractor rally on Republic Day this year, the meeting between the union and the center has not resumed. Farmers’ unions have repeatedly stated that these new laws will abolish Mandy and minimum support price (MSP) policies, leaving them at the mercy of big companies.
