BSF troops fire on a Pakistani drone near Jammu’s international border, forcing it to return.

On Saturday morning, BSF personnel stationed along the International Border (IB) in Jammu fired several rounds at a drone approaching from Pakistan, forcing it to flee, according to an official.

According to him, a massive search operation was launched in the area to ensure the flying object did not drop any weapons or narcotics.

“Early this morning, alert BSF troops in the Arnia area noticed a blinking light (in the sky) and fired at it, forcing the Pakistani flying object to return. In the area, a combined search and rescue operation is underway “S.P. Sandhu, BSF Deputy Inspector General, Jammu Frontier.

The Pakistani drone was spotted by border guards around 4.45 a.m., and they fired eight rounds to bring it down, according to officials.

The drone flew back after hovering in the air for a few minutes, officials said, adding that a search operation is underway in the R.S. Pura sector.

This is the second such occurrence in the last seven days. On May 7, the BSF opened fire in the same area on a Pakistani drone that had entered Indian territory.

After the BSF discovered an underground cross-border tunnel in the Chak Faquira area of Samba district on May 4, drone activity from Pakistan has increased.
