Delay in NEET PG counselling: Striking doctors run into Delhi Police wall

Resident doctors from Delhi’s main government hospital protested the repeated delays in NEET-PG consulting services, claiming on Monday that they were beaten, dragged and detained by police during a march to the Supreme Court.

In response, the Delhi police registered an FIR in part of the riots, resulting in work blockade and damage to the doctor’s public property. After the police officer lodged a complaint, the FIR was submitted to the IP Estate Police Station.

On the eleventh day when they completely withdrew from all routine and emergency services, the doctors decided to return their white coats to the authorities because they did not hear their request.
The delay in consultation was due to a series of pending cases pending the Supreme Court’s recent introduction of quotas for the weaker economy. About 50 doctors, including the president of the Federation of Resident Associations (FORDA) who led the strike, were detained near ITO.

“There is no respect for the Covid fighters. We are shocked and unbelievable at what happened today. Both male and female doctors were dragged on the road. Several people were injured, some were dragged and scratched, and others were hit by roadblocks. , And some people injured their hands when the door was closed,” said Dr. Anuji Agarwal, secretary general of the Residents’ Association, said that Dr. Manish Kumar, chairman of FORDA, also worked in Safdarjung Hospital. FORDA Vice Chairman Dr. Sunil Duchania said that everyone was later released.
