Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee Provides 850 Beds For COVID Care

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (DSGMC) on Tuesday offered to commission eight establishments operating in COVID care centers to cater to patients with mild symptoms and those in need of oxygen cylinders.

The organization offered to build a total of 850 beds in these facilities to help meet the increasing demand for hospital beds in the national capital amid an increase in COVID cases.

Delhi on Tuesday registered 1,859 new cases, taking the tally to 44,688.

The DSGMC president wrote a letter in this regard to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, stating that all facilities would be free and they would simply have to engage the government in nearby hospitals so that doctors, nurses and paramedic staff could supervise the patients. .

With the increase in the number of Kovid-19 cases, the Delhi government is preparing to convert hotels and banquet halls into temporary hospitals, a move expected to add 15,800 beds to the city’s health care infrastructure.

“We have requested the government for its approval and support so that we can start offering these services immediately. President of DSGMC, Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, “We will take care of all food, drinking water, general medicines, oxygen cylinders as well as hematological and biochemistry laboratory services for the admitted patients.

It is proposed to set up facilities at Gurudwara Nanak Piao Sahib, Guru Harkishan Yeti Niwas, Guru Arjan Dev Yeti Niwas, Guru Hargobind Institute of Management and Information Technology, Guru Harbhan Public School, Gurdwara Damdama Sahib, Guru Tegh Bahadur Polytechnic Institute.
