Dengue cases in Delhi cross 1,000-mark, 283 cases reported last week

According to a citizen report on vector-borne diseases released on Monday, Delhi has over 1,000 cases of dengue fever this year, and 283 new cases were reported last week. According to the report, 1 person died of dengue fever in September.

As of October 23, 1,006 cases of dengue fever have been recorded, which is the highest number of cases since 2018 in the same period. Of the total cases in this season, as of October 23, 665 cases have been recorded this month. Citizens’ group officials said the sudden increase in cases in the past two weeks has put pressure on city hospitals.

In the years before 2020, the number of deaths caused by dengue fever was 2 (2019); 4 (2018); 10 (2017); and 10 (2016), according to official statistics maintained by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation. Vector-borne disease cases are usually reported between July and November, but this period may last until mid-December.

Dengue fever is transmitted by several mosquitoes within the genus Aedes. Symptoms include fever, headache, muscle and joint pain, and a characteristic rash similar to measles. There are four types of dengue fever strains, type II and type IV are considered more serious and usually require hospitalization.

She compared Shah Rukh Khan’s films to Pathaan, Queen, and Manikarnika, noting that if she had a flop in Emergency, it would be a big hit. Kangana compared her career to Shah Rukh Khan, who had consecutive flops for ten years. She also mentioned that she had not had a single hit for 7-8 years before Queen, but after that, she had a few good movies.

The last generation of stars, known for their talent and demand, are now able to showcase their talents more through OTT.
