Deshbhakti curriculum in Delhi govt schools from today in major patriotic push
The deshbhakti curriculum stipulates that students from nursery to 8th grade take one class of patriotism a day, while senior students from 9th to 12th grade take two classes a week—not the following days. ) The Delhi government will launch the deshbhakti course from Tuesday, aiming to instill patriotism in students and inspire them to be proud of their country. The course will be launched in every class (from kindergarten to grade 12) in all public schools in the capital on September 28 to commemorate the birthday of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh.
Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal is expected to launch the deshbhakti course at an event at the Chhatrasal Stadium. The deshbhakti course requires students from kindergarten to grade 8 to have a patriotic study time once a day, and two lessons per week-not on the following days-for senior students in grades 9-12. According to a notice issued by the Department of Education (DoE) last week, “Each deshbhakti period should start with a five-minute Deshbhakti Dhyaan.
Teachers and students should practice mindfulness and reflect on what they think of the country, freedom fighters, and any five people they consider deshbhakt. Be grateful and guarantee their respect for the country.” Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal said earlier that the deshbhakti course will not be based on rote memorization and will not be tested. “It will be based on activities and students will be told stories about independence and national pride,” he said. “It will let the children realize their responsibilities and obligations to the country.”
