Earthquake strikes near Bengaluru, normal life not affected

The National Seismology Center (NCS) reported on Twitter that a magnitude 3.3 earthquake occurred near Bangalore on Wednesday morning. Normal life was not affected by the earthquake.

NCS said on Twitter that the earthquake occurred at 7:14 in the morning with a focal depth of 23 kilometers. According to reports, the epicenter was 66 kilometers away from the capital of Karnataka.

A few months ago, earthquakes were recorded in several areas of Karnataka, and it was later believed that the earthquakes were caused by a phenomenon called water earthquakes. The earthquakes were recorded in the Vidar, Karablaj and Vijayapura regions of Karnataka. Some of them have a magnitude of 4.0. A study by the Commissioner of the National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) and Karnataka Disaster Management Agency (KSDMA) revealed in October that earthquakes recorded in the northern part of the state usually occur after monsoons.

As of October this year, there have been at least 15 earthquakes and tremors in the state.
