“Excuse me, who are you?”: How they try to steal money on WhatsApp

Although Facebook is an application and social network with millions of fans, WhatsApp is used by more than a quarter of the world’s population, which makes it one of the largest and most ideal social channels for fraudulent use of social engineering and spread News.

The most commonly used one is the one that begins with the innocent “I’m sorry, who are you?” This allows us to relax our vigilance.

WhatsApp fraud, false information
The popular portal WABetaInfo, an expert in predicting all news that will reach WhatsApp, has become a victim of a scam using the introductory phrase we told you above. And taking advantage of this situation, they described one of the ways that scammers often use messaging applications to gain advantage and economic benefits.

They usually buy a VoIP number (Voice over Internet Protocol, the technology for making calls through an Internet connection). According to WhatsApp’s rules, this number is not allowed on WhatsApp and can have different targets: specific people or random people.
When they find a valid phone number, they will send a message asking questions such as “Excuse me, who are you? I found you on my agenda.”
They are always good to you because they want to win your trust.
They start to ask you some simple details, such as what is your name, what is your job, how old you are, and they will give you some compliments to make you feel good.
Sometimes scammers will ask you to add him to your social network, such as Instagram or Facebook
Scammers try to access your public information on Facebook and Instagram, such as your friends list and other interesting details that can help them steal your money.
Their next move is to blackmail you, saying that if you don’t send them money, they will share some confidential photos with your friends and family (real photos, if you share them naively, or photos edited with Adobe Photoshop ).
Under no circumstances should you send money to them. Because they will not stop blackmailing after they receive it, they will ask for more.

Surfaces of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra with Snapdragon 8S Gen 3

Early this week, renders of the Edge 50 Fusion appeared, and Motorola has previously stated that the Edge 50 Pro will ship on April 3. The highest-end smartphone in the Edge 50 series, the Edge 50 Ultra, has now been shown in renders.

The phone is depicted in the renderings in peach fuzz and black with a vegan leather finish, while sisal, a beige color, will have a brushed surface. As opposed to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 in the Pro variant and the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 in the Edge 50 Fusion, the phone is reportedly powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC.

A 50MP primary camera, an ultra-wide camera, and a periscope telephoto camera with a 5x optical zoom are all included in the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra’s feature set. Additionally, there is a triple LED flash on the right side and a laser autofocus feature above the periscope lens.

Although the phone’s display, battery, and charging specifications are yet unknown, the Edge 50 Pro is said to include 12GB of RAM and support both 50W and 125W wired and wireless charging.

It is anticipated that this will launch as the Motorola X50 Ultra in China. It is unclear if the India launch may be expected on the same day as the rest of the Edge 50 series phones, even if this is scheduled to go official on April 3.
