Filmmaker Santosh Gupta’s wife and daughter die by suicide

Actor who has worked in films like Gadar, Ghatak, Andaz Apna Apna, Scorpion, Hafta Band, and famous filmmaker Santosh Gupta’s wife Asmita Gupta and daughter Srishti Gupta have committed suicide.

The bodies of 55-year-old Asmita and 16-year-old Srishti were found at a flat in Andheri West in DN Nagar. Srishti was a brilliant student. The reasons for the suicide have not been revealed.

There has been no response from Santosh Gupta. Apart from films, Santosh Gupta has also acted in many TV serials, including Tipu. The police have registered a case and started investigation.

In the investigation so far, the police have come to know that Asmita had been suffering from kidney disease for a long time. It is believed that she took this step due to illness, while Srishti was very close to his mother. Both lived in a small flat. After the fire broke out, the neighbor called the fire brigade. Both were rushed to the hospital in a badly burnt state, where they were declared dead.

The Telugu film Family Star, directed by Parasuram Petla, has collected an estimated ₹5.75 crore nett in India on its first day of box office collection, marking an impressive opening day for the film.

Family Star reported a 38.45% Telugu occupancy on day 1, with Warangal having the highest occupancy (57.5%), followed by Visakhapatnam and Kakinada (56.75% each).

Parasuram Petla’s Family Star marks Vijay and Mrunal’s first collaboration, featuring a cast including Abhinaya, Vasuki, Rohini Hattangadi, Ravi Babu, and Divyansha Kaushik’s special appearance.
