Lenovo Halo leaks: One of the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus phones?
Lenovo isn’t known for its flagship phones, but it offered the Lenovo Legion Duel high-end gaming phone in 2020 and the Duel 2 last year. The company doesn’t seem to be stopping there, though.
Veteran leaker Evan Blass has now leaked a new flagship-level phone called the Lenovo Halo. Blass released apparent renders of the phone (see below) along with the specs, specifically stating that it shouldn’t be confused with the Duel 2 follow-up.
Perhaps the most notable claim is that the phone will feature the so-called SM8475 chipset, which features a 4nm design and an Adreno 730 GPU. We’re guessing it’s a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus or similar mid-year update. After all, the current chipset is a 4nm design and is said to have an Adreno 730 GPU (Qualcomm did not announce a specific model of the GPU this year). The SM8475 name also suggests that this is related to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (which has the SM8450 name).
Earlier rumors pointed to the chipset being made by TSMC rather than Samsung. TSMC is said to outperform Samsung in this regard, which translates to longer battery life, better cooling, and better sustained performance.
Other notable notable specs include a 6.67-inch 144Hz OLED screen (FHD+), 8/12/16GB LPDDR5 RAM, 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 68W wired charging. The Lenovo Halo is also expected to feature a triple rear camera system (50MP/13MP/2MP), a 16MP selfie camera and a design that is less than 8mm thick.
Blass added that the device is expected to arrive in the third quarter of 2022, in line with the mid-year refresh of Qualcomm’s flagship chips. The leaker doesn’t have any pricing information yet, so we might have to wait a while to hear anything official.

Surfaces of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra with Snapdragon 8S Gen 3
Early this week, renders of the Edge 50 Fusion appeared, and Motorola has previously stated that the Edge 50 Pro will ship on April 3. The highest-end smartphone in the Edge 50 series, the Edge 50 Ultra, has now been shown in renders.
The phone is depicted in the renderings in peach fuzz and black with a vegan leather finish, while sisal, a beige color, will have a brushed surface. As opposed to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 in the Pro variant and the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 in the Edge 50 Fusion, the phone is reportedly powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC.
A 50MP primary camera, an ultra-wide camera, and a periscope telephoto camera with a 5x optical zoom are all included in the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra’s feature set. Additionally, there is a triple LED flash on the right side and a laser autofocus feature above the periscope lens.
Although the phone’s display, battery, and charging specifications are yet unknown, the Edge 50 Pro is said to include 12GB of RAM and support both 50W and 125W wired and wireless charging.
It is anticipated that this will launch as the Motorola X50 Ultra in China. It is unclear if the India launch may be expected on the same day as the rest of the Edge 50 series phones, even if this is scheduled to go official on April 3.
