Affected by the disturbance, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may see widespread rain or snow this week. Isolated hail may also appear in this area. Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh may experience fairly widespread light or moderate rain. Isolated thunderstorms are also expected in the area.

“We expect large-scale rains in northwestern India and parts of central India before January 9, and heavy rains may occur on January 5 and 6 and January 8 and 9. Due to two consecutive strong disturbances in the west, The temperature during the day may be lower than normal, and the sky may be cloudy. The temperature at night may be higher than normal. On January 5th and 7th, Delhi may also have extensive rainfall. Due to the influence of the second disturbance, Tren Rain and hail will also occur in Ganna, Vidaba, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand,” said senior scientist RK Jenamani, IMD. From January 7th to 9th, due to another active western disturbance and its induced system, rainfall or snowfall activity in the western Himalayas may increase.
