Mahima Chaudhry is introduced by Kangana Ranaut as Pupul Jayakar in an emergency

On her Instagram Stories on Saturday, star Kangana Ranaut shared Mahima Chaudhry’s appearance from the upcoming movie Emergency. Mahima will play writer and cultural activist Pupul Jayakar, a close friend of the Nehru family, in the movie. Kangana will play former prime minister Indira Gandhi in the movie.

Kangana posted a poster of the movie’s character played by Mahima Chaudhry with the caption, “Welcome to the team, ma’am.”

Kangana portrays the late politician Indira Gandhi in the movie Emergency, which centres on the life of the former Indian Prime Minister. The project is also being directed by Kangana. Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be portrayed by actor Shreyas Talpade, and Jayaprakash Narayan will be portrayed by actor Anupam Kher.

According to Kangana, Pupul Jayakar, who plays Mahima in the movie, was an author and a close friend of Mrs. Gandhi who also wrote her autobiography. She was Mrs. Gandhi’s go-to person for everything. The figure of Pupul Jayakar is the one that unites the audience with Mrs. Gandhi’s inner world and runs through the entire movie. Even though it is a first-person account, the movie does not have a narrator. The most heartfelt conversations involve Mrs. Gandhi and Pupul. They clarified how she revealed her darkest, most intimate secrets to Pupul Jayakar. Because of this, her character in the movie Emergency becomes important.

Working with Kangana is an experience since she wears so many hats with such ease, according to Mahima Chaudhry. She is portraying Mrs. Indira Gandhi, a crucial political figure. She is both producing and directing it. She does it so effortlessly and with such confidence that she inspires me to be very confident. I find a lot of strength in her and how she operates. It makes me incredibly pleased to be her coworker. She has a great deal of talent. My scenes are the ones where you get to witness the non-political side of this great statesman and contentious political leader during the Emergency since Pupul Jayakar was Mrs. Indira Gandhi’s boyhood friend.
