The scheme’s implementation has been put on hold until further orders by the National Council of Educational Research and Training, which oversees the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE). The Ministry of Education has approved the central sector programme till March 31, 2021, with full funding. According to a formal announcement made in this regard, the scheme has been put on hold until further orders because further implementation has not been approved.

The Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, fully funds the central sector programme known as the National Talent Search Scheme (GoI). According to a statement from the Educational Survey Division, NCERT is an organisation that implements the NTS Scheme.

The scholarship is given to candidates for the current programme who wish to pursue courses in science and social science up to the doctoral level as well as professional programmes like engineering and medical up to the second-degree levels.
