On the same-sex foreplay sequence in Heeramandi, Sonakshi Sinha breaks her silence. “She despises men to the core.”

The daring same-sex foreplay sequence in actor Sonakshi Sinha’s most recent web series, Heeramandi, which was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is discussed.

For her role as Fareedan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi, Sonakshi Sinha is receiving incredible acclaim. She is especially praised for taking a risk in a same-sex foreplay sequence. The actor has since said in an interview that Fareedan’s sexuality was not purposefully pursued further.

Sonakshi also gave an explanation for Bhansali’s decision to forego delving deeply into Fareedan’s sexuality in an interview with News18.

The audacious deed

For those who don’t know, the scene in question included Fareedan and one of her servants engaged in foreplay, which suggested that they were having intercourse. The filmmaker chose not to pursue it.

Sonakshi explained why, saying, “She was sold off when she was a nine-year-old girl.” Perhaps this is the reason she despises males so much. That could be the case. It’s been left incredibly open. They just looked at the one scene where she is with her maid and meets Choudhary saab, a nawab.

She said, “It’s just a very big world, and sir has touched into different parts of it in little ways.”

Sonakshi’s comments about Heeramandi

The 36-year-old, who made her OTT debut with the series, is ecstatic at the kind reception she has received. But one comment in particular holds a special place in her heart, and star Rekha has expressed her appreciation for it. It had a mystical quality. It was years after I attended a showing like that. In my whole career, that was one of the largest premieres I’ve attended. That day, I made so many new friends. However, Rekha ma’am was really encouraging and helpful and went crazy about Heeramandi,” she remarked.

The veteran performer was “thrilled” with the programme, the actor goes on to say. She spoke to me in such exquisite detail that I was in complete amazement. The praise I was receiving from Rekha ji astounded me. I will never forget that one discussion we had. She refers to my mother as my “other mumma” all the time. We are very much in love with one other. Together, we had a lovely moment, she continued.

More concerning Heeramandi

Sanjay has shared tales of love and treachery from the life of courtesans in pre-independence India through Heeramandi. With the stories of courtesans and their clients set against the turbulent backdrop of the Indian freedom movement in the 1940s, the series delves into the cultural realities of Heeramandi, an area in Lahore.

Alongside Shekhar Suman, Fardeen Khan, Adhyayan Suman, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Sharmin Segal, and Taha Shah Badussha, there are more notable actors in it. On May 1, Netflix launched it.

When Janhvi Kapoor was twelve or thirteen years old, she claims the media “sexualized” her.

Janhvi Kapoor is getting ready for the sporting drama Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’s premiere. The actor was featured in a new interview with producer Karan Johar and co-star Rajkummar Rao, which was posted on Dharma Productions’ official YouTube channel. Janhvi talked candidly about being “sexualized” from a young age.

What Janhvi mentioned

Janhvi responded, “I feel like this is also an aspect that I have been navigating for a long time,” when Karan questioned her about how she felt about the ongoing objectification she deals with. I believe the first time I experienced media sexualization was when I was between the ages of 12 and 13. My parents and I went to an event. I was featured in photos and social media was just getting started. When I discovered my photos on what appeared to be a pornographic website, the boys at my school just stared and laughed.

“There’s a character assassination of sorts.”

She went on, “I have been navigating it for a very long time, and it is a very weird thing to do.” I need to move past the fact that I feel like I apologise a lot for my origins. Other people, I’m sure, handle it in far more varied ways. I continue to believe that my explanation of it and my personal experiences are extremely privileged. However, it was difficult. When a girl wears clothing that suggests she is at ease with her sexuality, she is subject to a form of character assassination.

Janhvi plays a doctor who loves cricket in the film Mr and Mrs Mahi. Rajkummar, who plays her husband, trains her to be a cricket player. Directed by Sharan Sharma, the movie opened in theatres on May 31.
