Pet Theft Awareness Day
February 14th every year is Pet Theft Prevention Awareness Day. Pet Anti-Theft Awareness Week runs from February 14th to 21st. Pet theft remains a dire reality around the world. The importance of this day is to ask yourself how safe your pet is. The most common victims of organized pet thieves are cats and dogs. Purebred dogs have the highest number of thefts. These stolen purebred dogs, especially toys, puppies and designer breeds, are sold and transported for two main purposes – as baits for training dogs, and through dealer B to be sold to laboratories for testing and biological medical experiment. Pets may be sold to puppy mills for breeding purposes. Stealing pets can be jailed for up to four years.
Last Chance for Animals is a US-based nonprofit that supports animal rights and has produced great documentaries against the use of animals for testing purposes. The organization was founded in 1984 by Hollywood actor Chris DeRose as a group against live animal testing. In 2000, the group focused on pet theft, the fur trade and pets used in circuses. In 2013, Arnot Wilson, the head of Dog Union, came across an image of pet theft on social media, which led him to found Pet Theft Awareness; co-founder was Richard Jordan. Therefore, a day was set up to spread awareness about pet theft.

How simple it is to maintain floors is a deciding factor when selecting floor materials, especially in areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and hospitals where sanitization is crucial.
