SC orders demolition of Supertech’s twin 40-floor towers in Noida

The Supreme Court has ordered the demolition of two 40-storey towers of real estate company Supertech in one of its housing projects in Noida.

The court has ordered Supertech to compensate all the flat owners of both the towers of Noida along with 12 percent interest.

The Supreme Court has said that its construction was the result of collusion between the Noida Authority and Supertech officials. The court directed that it should be demolished within 3 months.

The Supreme Court’s decision comes on an appeal by Supertech and the Noida Authority challenging the Allahabad High Court’s decision of 11 April 2014, which had decided to demolish the two towers, Apex and Ciena, that form part of Supertech’s Emerald Court project.
