Security tightened in Karnataka’s Shivamogga after ‘murder’ of Bajrang Dal worker

Karnataka’s Shivamogga issued a ban after a Bajrang Dal worker was reportedly killed.

The alleged murder of a 26-year-old Bajrang Dal activist, Harsha, in Shivamogga late on Sunday prompted increased security in the town.

According to recent reports, the city has implemented CrPC Section 144.

Home Minister Araga Jnanendra said schools and colleges in the city will be closed for two days as a precautionary measure. He went on to say the young man was murdered by four or five men, adding that he did not know what equipment might have been behind the murder.

“A group of four or five young people murdered him. I don’t know what organization was behind this murder. Law and order in Shivamogga is under control. As a precaution, schools and colleges within the city limits were closed for two days,” ANI news agency The minister was quoted as saying.

BJP leader from Shivamogga, Rural Development Minister KS Eshwarappa, said the youth was murdered by “Muslim Goondas”.

Meanwhile, some thugs burned several cars in the Seegehatti district, according to ANI. Fire fighting is currently underway.

The southern state has been in the eye of the storm in recent days following controversy over banning Muslim girls from wearing hijabs in educational institutions. Violent protests have erupted in several locations across the state, with young people belonging to right-wing fringe groups and those expanding support for Muslim girls demanding the right to wear the hijab.

Kangana responded to a question about her career, stating that she has never had a flop. She compared Shah Rukh Khan’s films to Pathaan, Queen, and Manikarnika, noting that if she had a flop in Emergency, it would be a big hit. Kangana compared her career to Shah Rukh Khan, who had consecutive flops for ten years. She also mentioned that she had not had a single hit for 7-8 years before Queen, but after that, she had a few good movies.
