Shaheer Sheikh’s father dies of Covid-19, Aly Goni offers condolences

Actor Shahr Sheikh’s father, Shah Nawaz Sheikh, died on Wednesday after his battle with Covid-19. He is on a ventilator due to a severe coronavirus infection.

Actor Aly Goni expressed his condolences on Twitter Wednesday night and asked Shaheer to stay strong. He tweeted: “Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un (we do belong to God and we do return to him). Rest in peace Uncle Allah soul @Shaheer_S, stay strong bhai.” A few days ago, Shaheer shared a throwback photo of his dad and asked everyone to pray for him. He once wrote: “My father is on a ventilator and has a severe Covid-19 infection… Please pray for him.”

Several of his colleagues, fans and friends have supported him on Twitter. Hina Khan wrote to him, “Please be patient, my friend, I told you he will be home soon, healthy and happy. Inshallah #SendDuaEveryone.”

The trailer for Shahir’s new drama also arrived around the same time. He will return as Manav in the second season of Pavitra Rishta. The web show also marked the return of Ankita Lokhande as Archana.

Eight years ago, Shaheer shot to fame on the TV show Mahabharata, in which he played the role of Arjun.

Shaheer Sheikh married Ruchikaa Kapoor in November 2020. The pair welcomed a baby girl on September 10 last year. Shaheer occasionally shares glimpses of her daughter on his Instagram account.

The actor recently revealed how he’s been away from work for so long. In an interview, he said: “The days we work are paid and TV actors are like a daily bet. If we don’t shoot for two to six months, that’s fine, but beyond a certain point it does Excuse me. It gets tough, especially now that I have responsibilities and stuff. For a while, it worries me.”

The first day of Family Star’s box office collection features Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur’s Telugu film, directed by Parasuram Petla.

The Telugu film Family Star, directed by Parasuram Petla, has collected an estimated ₹5.75 crore nett in India on its first day of box office collection, marking an impressive opening day for the film.

Family Star reported a 38.45% Telugu occupancy on day 1, with Warangal having the highest occupancy (57.5%), followed by Visakhapatnam and Kakinada (56.75% each).
