‘I did not know if I would play Tests again’: Ashwin’s staggering revelation

Life is not always fair. Sometimes you will be disappointed because there is no fault, and you are responsible for redeeming yourself. In the current world cricket, no one pays more attention to this than Indian senior deputy R Ashwin. Although the Tamil Nadu bowler is one of the best bowlers produced in the country, he is often eliminated due to inexplicable reasons. But he always fights back, which is why he is regarded as a modern great man.

In an interview with BCCI.tv and teammate Shreyas Iyer, Ashwin made a surprising revelation, admitting that he was at a crossroads last year and wondering if he will wear white again. A few hours after surpassing Harbhajan Singh to become the third-highest ticket inspector in the Indian test, he made this statement, which fully illustrates the struggle that the stars must go through. The 35-year-old Ashwin took his 419th place on Monday and surpassed Harbhajan in his 80th test (417 out of 103 tests), and he was very candid in the chat with Iyer.

“In order to be very humble about what happened in my life and career in the past few years, I don’t know if I will continue to play cricket during the pandemic and during the blockade,” Ashwin said. “I have not participated in the last test in Christchurch (In India) (starting on February 29, 2020). I stand at a crossroads thinking about whether to take the test again, where my future will go, and whether I can enter The test team this is the only format I am playing. But God has always been kind and I have been able to turn things around,” he said.

“When you (Shreyas) was the captain, I moved to the capital of Delhi and things have changed since then,” he said in an interview shared on BCCI’s official Twitter.

The video was uploaded after India and New Zealand had a dramatic draw in Kanpur. In India’s 5th day, it took 280 runs to win 9 wickets. The New Zealander managed to play all day because the last pair of Rachin Ravindra and Ajaz Patel hit 51 goals.

Speaking of the game, Ashwin said: “After the game, we still can’t win. We are so close but so far, it has been a difficult thing for me.

“It happened once in Jamaica. We couldn’t cross the line. On the last day, we tried to win by force but failed to win. It took some time for me, especially as a bowler in the last game, but it was just It didn’t happen today,” Ashwin said.
