Jamie Foxx is coming back to host Beat Shazam, the musical game show, once more. After being hospitalized for an as-yet-undisclosed medical problem, the actor had a tremendous season the previous year. In Jamie’s absence, Nick Cannon presented season six of Beat Shazam. Fox confirmed on Monday that Jamie and daughter Corinne will return to presenting the game show for its future season, according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter.
Corinne Foxx, the daughter of Jamie Foxx, has returned to her role as the show’s co-host DJ. Kelly Osbourne took over for her briefly in the previous season. Beat Shazam’s seventh season debuts on May 28. In addition, Jamie serves as the show’s executive producer. Teams comprising “fathers, siblings, teachers, heroes, and mothers” are supposedly included in the themed episodes of Beat Shazam season 7.
“Jamie and Corinne are the heart and soul of Beat Shazam,” stated Fox Entertainment’s head of unscripted entertainment, Allison Wallach. It’s great to have them back on set this season as our unquestionably dynamic father-daughter presenting duo. They bring a relationship unlike any other to a show like no other.
Jamie Foxx was admitted to the hospital in April 2023 while filming the Netflix film Back in Action for an undisclosed “medical complication.” He spent a considerable amount of time recovering. A representative for the actor refuted a rumor in June 2023 that the Covid-19 vaccination had left him “paralysed and blind.”
Although Jamie hasn’t yet revealed the specifics of his medical issue, he did allude to some potentially dangerous consequences in December 2023 during his first public appearance. That event was held by the Critics Choice Association. “I couldn’t do that six months ago, I couldn’t actually walk to [the stage],” the actor had remarked. I did not see the light; I only saw the tunnel. I had no idea where I was heading, and it was really hot in that tube.”

After The Kapil Sharma Show aired on television for the last year, the comedian moved to streaming services in 2024 with The Great Indian Kapil Show. Actor Huma Qureshi was a permanent visitor on the TV show Madness Machayenge-India Ko Hassayenge, which briefly filled the hole created by the departure of the former show. But it didn’t quite click with the public, and according to recent rumours, the channel has added comedian Zakir Khan to help fill the void with a new programme.
Comedy and shayari will be mixed together in Zakir Khan’s presentation.
We now know some exclusive information about the show, such as its schedule and format. According to a source with direct knowledge of the situation, “Zakir’s show will feature a trademark Zakir blend of humour and shayari. With this programme, the comedian hopes to reach a larger audience. He has already developed a following of people who identify with his shayarana side. Madness Machayenge is now airing and is most likely coming to an end. Zakir’s television programme is scheduled to premiere in August. Bollywood visitors will appear on the broadcast in addition to Zakir’s shayari and comedy, much like it used to happen on Kapil’s show.” This is Khan’s second television appearance following his work on the fifth season of The As a mentor in the Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2017. In addition, he hosted the comedic non-fiction programme Farzi Mushaira on OTT, combining humour and shayari with well-known guests.
Recently, filming for Kapil’s OTT show came to an end, and there were rumours that this was because of the show’s poor viewership. The cast of Heeramandi, American singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, and actors Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor, among others, were disclosed in a video that the crew published to refute the rumours. Regarding Madness Machayenge, the television programme that took Kapil’s position, director Karan Johar blasted it for his repulsive impersonation on the show. The full guest list for Zakir’s programme has not yet been announced.
