Jang Ki Yong and Chun Woo Hee’s K-drama closes with the highest rating; the explanation of Netflix’s Atypical Family ending

The supernatural rom-com series Atypical Family on Netflix has concluded, despite keeping a respectable domestic viewership rating. With its captivating plot, the K-drama on Netflix tried to keep up but nonetheless fell short of expectations, especially in light of the build-up to Jang Ki Yong’s return. After the 12-episode run of the show ended, viewers were left with a lot of unanswered questions: Was the conclusion happy? Who made it out of the flames alive? And so forth. Who was this fascinating kid?

Atypical Family receives its greatest grade to date.
Nielsen Korea reports that the JTBC program scored an average nationwide rating of 4.9%, which was its highest rating to date. On Netflix, it holds its spot on the Number 4 spot in the non-English TV show category.

The explanation of the Atypical Family’s ending
When the eleventh episode ends and Bok Gwi Ju gets an injury mark on his neck, he starts to think that his mother’s dream about his death is finally coming true. The wound he received while trying to teach little Da Hae how to ride a bicycle while traveling back in time was the same wound Da Hae witnessed on her savior’s neck after a 13-year firefight. Though Gwi Ju chooses to keep it hidden from her, she finally finds out. In order to determine how much time he has left before passing away, Gwi Ju asks a pharmacist in the last episode how long the mark will endure.

After Dong Hee breaks up with Ji Han, Grace arranges for Dong Hee to see her uncle. Enraged by envy, Ji Han swears to ruin their happiness. He tries, but is unable, to threaten Dong Hee. When Da Hae sees that Gwi Ju is always wearing turtlenecks, she tries to investigate further by feeling around his neck when he is sleeping. She discovers a scar and realizes its significance. However, Gwi Ju requests that she keep this a secret from his family until after In Ha’s competition is over.

Bok In the school fire in Ha
During her debut performance, In Ha experiences stage fright as she nervously looks around the audience for her father. Gwi Ju is searching for solutions. A communication arrives from an old colleague who is trying to piece together information concerning a fire that happened thirteen years ago. Despite this, he makes the hasty decision to head back to the show, leaving Da Hae perplexed in his wake. To further complicate things, Gwi Ju’s father tells Da Hae about a terrifying dream he had about a fire at Yi Na’s school. In a different incident, Ji Han threatens to burn her house on fire if she doesn’t cooperate, all in an attempt to win back Dong Hee. Dong Hee questions his intentions, yet ironically, after she departs, Ji-Han unintentionally ignites a fire himself.

In the Atypical Family, who survives the fire?
In When Ha gets caught in a fire, Da Hae shows up to save her. But when the fire gets hotter and a big chunk of a damaged wall is about to collapse on them, Gwi Ju holds it up so they may escape. He tells her to run from the mayhem and says this is the best time for him to sneak back in time and save her. He disappears in spite of Da Hae’s cries for him to stay. Gwi Ju goes back in time to Ha’s birth and comes up with a scheme to keep Da Hae alive.

This time, when he walks into the ward, everything is colored, making him obvious to everyone. He spends a little minute with his deceased wife and then the colleague he lost in the accident before leaving the room. Before vanishing into the fire, Gwi Ju offers her family a ring and succeeds in saving the love of his life. The Bok family is then seen grieving for their son’s passing.

Is Gwi Ju no longer alive?
After five years, Bok Gwi Ju was nowhere to be found. Da Hae has a son and currently resides with the Bok family. The family has come to terms with Gwi Ju’s death during his time trip. There is a twist, though. The son of Gwi Ju and Da Hae, who likewise has the extraordinary ability to bring objects from the past, appears in the epilogue. Da Hae shows her son his dad’s picture in the hopes that he will resurrect him from the past, even though she knows it’s highly unlikely.

Zhao Lusi, star of Hidden Love, broke her silence about abuse and blackmail after losing weight to 37 kg.

Zhao Lusi reveals her harrowing experience with abuse, blackmail, and a drastic weight loss. Speaks out against silencing of victims and toll on mental health.
Chinese actress Zhao Lusi, who gained global fame with the Netflix drama Hidden Love, was hospitalsed a few days ago, after which a picture of the actress in a wheelchair surfaced.

Now on the road to recovery, the actress has opened up about her tumultuous experiences involving abuse and mental health struggles. Zhao revealed that her weight once dropped to just 36.7 kg, but thankfully she has since gained weight with the assistance of her parents.

Zhao Lusi’s health concern sparks outcry

Concerns over Zhao Lusi’s health were heightened when she was seen in a wheelchair, prompting a close friend to expose disturbing details. The friend accused a member of her company of abusing her while others in the organisation allegedly turned a blind eye.

Her management shortly confirmed the actress had suspended all work-related commitments and rolled out a statement saying, “On the 18th, Ms. Zhao Lusi suddenly felt unwell and went to the hospital for examination and treatment immediately. She is currently following the doctor’s orders for treatment and recuperation.”

Zhao Lusi breaks her silence

On January 1, Zhao took to Weibo to address these allegations and share her truth in a heartfelt letter. According to a copy of the post acquired by Koreaboo, the C-Drama star began by apologising for the attention and explaining the toll her illness and struggles had taken on her.

She acknowledged that she hadn’t always been vocal about her challenges, attributing some responsibility to herself while stressing the harmful culture of silencing victims. “I think it is wrong if someone who is not receiving any support is silenced while their abuser grows bolder, regardless of profession, age, or gender. It’s ridiculous to force someone to reopen old wounds to prove they’re not ‘overthinking,’ not ‘too weak,’ or not ‘unsatisfied.’”

She claimed that no one, except medical professionals, should judge the severity of someone’s trauma or determine its legitimacy after a few accused her of seeking attention.

Shocking abuse revelations

The C-drama actress recounted incidents involving being physically hit by a teacher during tutoring sessions and as an adult, she was hit after failing an acting audition and felt compelled to remain silent. Zhao also revealed that the abuser exposed by her friend not only harmed her but threatened self-harm to manipulate her.

Even after the abuse ended, she faced slander and rumors within the industry, which further compounded her pain. “In the end, she demanded a large ‘contract termination fee’ before finally stopping her cycles of crying, making scenes, and threatening self-harm. Even after, she continually slander and rumors about me, both inside and outside the industry.”

Struggles with weight and mental health

In her statement, Zhao disclosed that her weight had once plummeted to a dangerously low 37 kg due to the mental toll of her experiences. She described being blackmailed and controlled by the alleged abuser, who reportedly used threats and emotional manipulation to exert power over her.

Fans have rallied behind the actress, offering her support and sharing her story widely online. The actress appears to be focusing on her recovery. She thanked those who stood by her during these difficult times, crediting their love and care for helping her find the strength to move forward.
