Basant Panchami 2022: PM Modi extends wishes; Saraswati Puja to be held today

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his blessings on the occasion of the Basant Panchami and Saraswati pujas on Saturday. He will unveil a statue of the 11th-century Vishnu sage Sri Ramanujacharya in Hyderabad today.

“Happy Basant Panchami and Saraswati Puja to all. May Mother Sharda’s blessings be with you all, and may Rituraj Basant bring joy to everyone’s life,” PM Modi tweeted.

Celebrated on the fifth day (Panchami) of the Magha (month) of the Hindu calendar, Saraswati Puja is also known as Basant Panchami in some parts of India. This festival marks the arrival of spring in India.

This festival is dedicated to Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, music and art. On this day, Goddess Saraswati is worshipped in temples as well as by students in schools and universities.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sangbitpatra prayed to Goddess Saraswati in Sanskrit and wished the people of the country of Basant Panchami.

According to Hindu mythology, it is believed that Lord Brahma created the universe on this day. It is also believed that Goddess Durga gave birth to Goddess Saraswati on this day. The significance of this occasion is huge in Hindu culture, as the day is considered an auspicious day (Grah Pravesh) for starting a new job, getting married or holding a housewarming ceremony.

Yellow has many meanings on this day. People celebrate the day by wearing yellow clothing, worshipping Goddess Saraswati and eating traditional dishes. Yellow symbolizes knowledge and also the mustard fields associated with the arrival of spring.

Kangana Ranaut, the BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Mandi for the 2024 elections, expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for her political entrance. In an interview with Times Now, she questioned whether she joined politics due to her movies’ poor box office performance, comparing it to Shah Rukh Khan’s previous unsuccessful films.

Kangana responded to a question about her career, stating that she has never had a flop. She compared Shah Rukh Khan’s films to Pathaan, Queen, and Manikarnika, noting that if she had a flop in Emergency, it would be a big hit. Kangana compared her career to Shah Rukh Khan, who had consecutive flops for ten years. She also mentioned that she had not had a single hit for 7-8 years before Queen, but after that, she had a few good movies.

No stars from OTT?

The last generation of stars, known for their talent and demand, are now able to showcase their talents more through OTT.
