Covid-19: India logs 50,407 new cases, 804 deaths in 24 hours; positivity at 3.43%

India recorded 50,407 coronavirus cases and 804 deaths in the past 24 hours, data from the Union Health Ministry on Saturday morning showed. The daily positivity rate continues to decline, down 13% or nearly 8,000 cases from yesterday.

With the new figures, the country’s total cases have been pushed to 42,586,544, while the death toll stands at 5,07,981. The daily positivity rate dropped to 3.48%.

According to today’s government figures, active cases fell to 1.43 per cent and the recovery rate rose to 97.37 per cent.

According to the Ministry of Health, India has conducted 749.3 million Covid tests so far, with 14,50,532 tests conducted in the past 24 hours.

The government also noted that a total of 1,72,29,47,688 vaccine doses have been administered in the country to date in the nationwide vaccination campaign.

Notably, Delhi has recorded fewer than 1,000 cases in the past 24 hours, according to the latest data available.

Meanwhile, a new study on Friday showed the efficacy of booster doses of Pfizer and Moderna’s vaccines waned substantially over a four-month period.

In an interview with Times Now, she questioned whether she joined politics due to her movies’ poor box office performance, comparing it to Shah Rukh Khan’s previous unsuccessful films.

Kangana responded to a question about her career, stating that she has never had a flop. She compared Shah Rukh Khan’s films to Pathaan, Queen, and Manikarnika, noting that if she had a flop in Emergency, it would be a big hit. Kangana compared her career to Shah Rukh Khan, who had consecutive flops for ten years. She also mentioned that she had not had a single hit for 7-8 years before Queen, but after that, she had a few good movies.

The last generation of stars, known for their talent and demand, are now able to showcase their talents more through OTT.
