Donald Trump’s Truth Social Partners With Canada’s Rumble

Former US President Donald Trump’s social media company said on Tuesday that it has reached a technology and cloud service agreement with Canadian video platform Rumble.

As part of the agreement, Rumble will provide video and streaming services for Truth Social, Trump’s proposed social media application.

Rumble was launched in 2013 by tech entrepreneur Chris Pavlovski. It is an alternative to YouTube style website and is very popular among American conservatives who are looking for alternatives to big technology. Popular videos include those from conservative commentators Dan Bongino and Dinesh D’Souza and former Trump White House strategist Steve Bannon Video. It was supported by the venture capitalist Peter Thiel and the writer-turned US Senate candidate JD Vance through Narya Capital. On December 1, Rumble stated that it would merge with the blank cheque company CF Acquisition Corp VI to go public with an initial corporate value of US$210 million (approximately Rs 15,970 crore). The combined company will be called Rumble and is expected to be listed on the Nasdaq.

Former Trump administration lawyer Michael Ellis joined Rumble in November as its first general counsel and company secretary.

Trump Media and Technology Group announced the news a few hours after Rumble said it had severed business relationships with Tremor International and Unruly Group. Rumble said these companies had tried to censor conservative Dan Bongino. TMTG provided little information on how it plans to create a social media platform, streaming service, news department, and alternative cloud provider to compete with the entrenched players in these categories.

The company said on December 6 that the top Republican Rep. Devin Nunes of the U.S. House of Representatives Intelligence Committee will leave Congress to become the CEO of the new company and will take office in January.

Nunez has always been an ardent supporter of Trump. After Trump lied about election fraud, he voted against proving that Democrat Joe Biden won the 2020 election.

Surfaces of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra with Snapdragon 8S Gen 3

Early this week, renders of the Edge 50 Fusion appeared, and Motorola has previously stated that the Edge 50 Pro will ship on April 3. The highest-end smartphone in the Edge 50 series, the Edge 50 Ultra, has now been shown in renders.

The phone is depicted in the renderings in peach fuzz and black with a vegan leather finish, while sisal, a beige color, will have a brushed surface. As opposed to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 in the Pro variant and the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 in the Edge 50 Fusion, the phone is reportedly powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC.

A 50MP primary camera, an ultra-wide camera, and a periscope telephoto camera with a 5x optical zoom are all included in the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra’s feature set. Additionally, there is a triple LED flash on the right side and a laser autofocus feature above the periscope lens.

Although the phone’s display, battery, and charging specifications are yet unknown, the Edge 50 Pro is said to include 12GB of RAM and support both 50W and 125W wired and wireless charging.

It is anticipated that this will launch as the Motorola X50 Ultra in China. It is unclear if the India launch may be expected on the same day as the rest of the Edge 50 series phones, even if this is scheduled to go official on April 3.
