Twitter Finally Rolls Out Automatic Captions for Videos on Mobile, Web

Twitter is providing automatic subtitles for videos. Starting on Wednesday, December 15th, the long-awaited feature begins to roll out globally for iOS, Android, and the web. The automatic subtitle function currently supports 37 languages. Since there is no real-time translation on Twitter, the subtitles will be displayed in the language of the device originally used to upload the clip. Automatic subtitles will appear on muted videos on iOS and Android. On the other hand, desktop users can turn them on and off. Hearing impaired users can now watch videos with automatic captions on Twitter, which expands the reach of more users on the platform.

The Twitter support team posted a tweet about the new update on December 15. The company confirmed that starting today, all users on Android, iOS, and the Web can use automatic subtitles for videos. As mentioned earlier, with the new feature, Twitter users can automatically see subtitles when watching silent videos on their mobile devices. Twitter’s automatic subtitles currently support more than 30 languages, including Arabic, Chinese, English, German, Hindi, Tamil, etc. Twitter pointed out that automatic subtitles will now be displayed in silent videos on iOS and Android, and you can also turn off the device’s sound and click the CC button on the desktop to view the automatic subtitle text.

The social media company has recently made many notable changes to its platform and Twitter Spaces. It has teamed up with Instagram to simplify cross-posting by launching Twitter Card previews on Android, iOS, and the web. In addition, Twitter has added a new privacy-related feature that allows users to delete followers without blocking them. Once a Twitter user deletes someone, that user’s tweets will no longer automatically appear in their timeline. It is currently available on the web version.

Surfaces of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra with Snapdragon 8S Gen 3

Early this week, renders of the Edge 50 Fusion appeared, and Motorola has previously stated that the Edge 50 Pro will ship on April 3. The highest-end smartphone in the Edge 50 series, the Edge 50 Ultra, has now been shown in renders.

The phone is depicted in the renderings in peach fuzz and black with a vegan leather finish, while sisal, a beige color, will have a brushed surface. As opposed to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 in the Pro variant and the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 in the Edge 50 Fusion, the phone is reportedly powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC.

A 50MP primary camera, an ultra-wide camera, and a periscope telephoto camera with a 5x optical zoom are all included in the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra’s feature set. Additionally, there is a triple LED flash on the right side and a laser autofocus feature above the periscope lens.

Although the phone’s display, battery, and charging specifications are yet unknown, the Edge 50 Pro is said to include 12GB of RAM and support both 50W and 125W wired and wireless charging.

It is anticipated that this will launch as the Motorola X50 Ultra in China. It is unclear if the India launch may be expected on the same day as the rest of the Edge 50 series phones, even if this is scheduled to go official on April 3.
