Facebook rebrands to Meta. What has changed, what hasn’t

Facebook Inc co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg (Mark Zuckerberg) stated that his company will be called Meta Platforms Inc, or Meta for short, to reflect its commitment to the development of the immersion known as metaverse The promise of a digital world.

Zuckerberg, speaking at the company’s real-time streaming virtual and augmented reality conference, said that the new name reflects his investment in the work of Metaverse, rather than the social media service of the same name. Zuckerberg said: “We have learned a lot from fighting social issues and living on closed platforms. Now it’s time to use everything we learned to help build a new chapter.” “I am proud to announce that starting today, our company is now Meta.

Our mission remains the same. It remains to bring people, our apps, and their brands together. They have not changed,” he added . Zuckerberg said that Facebook’s name no longer includes everything the company does. “Today, we are considered a social media company,” Zuckerberg said. “But in our DNA, we are a company that builds technology to connect people.” The Facebook application has not changed its name, nor has Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger.

The company’s CEO and senior leadership will not change its corporate structure. But on December 1st, its stock will start trading under the new stock symbol MVRS.
