Ponniyin Selvan, the much anticipated film by director Mani Ratnam: I opened in theatres on September 30 to mostly favourable reviews and a strong box office reception. Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, and Trisha are among the ensemble cast members of the movie. Aishwarya makes her return on the big screen after a four-year absence with Ponniyin Selvan.

Aishwarya uploaded several photos with Mani Ratnam on Instagram on Saturday. The actor and the director smiled broadly as they stood in front of the camera. Fans praised the pair, with one of them writing, “Do more movies together.” “The finest director-actor pair,” another fan said. Fans praised Aishwarya for her portrayal of Queen Nandini in the film and stated that she was “born to play Nandini.”

At a promotional event, Aishwarya remarked of working with Mani Ratnam, “Working with Mani sir, he is my master. He and I collaborated on my first movie. I feel lucky to have the chance to work with him as I begin my acting career. The finest instructor is experience, thus the ideal institution would be its guru. Work ethic is really important, and it all begins at the beginning.

Ponniyin Selvan: I is based on the same-titled book by Kalki Krishnamurthy. After Valimai and Beast, the movie ranked third in Tamil Nadu for the year with a day one total of Rs. 25.86 crore.

In an interview with Times Now, she questioned whether she joined politics due to her movies’ poor box office performance, comparing it to Shah Rukh Khan’s previous unsuccessful films.

Kangana responded to a question about her career, stating that she has never had a flop. She compared Shah Rukh Khan’s films to Pathaan, Queen, and Manikarnika, noting that if she had a flop in Emergency, it would be a big hit. Kangana compared her career to Shah Rukh Khan, who had consecutive flops for ten years. She also mentioned that she had not had a single hit for 7-8 years before Queen, but after that, she had a few good movies.

The last generation of stars, known for their talent and demand, are now able to showcase their talents more through OTT.
