“The decision was taken after exercising the powers conferred by Section 60(c) of the Representation of the People Act 1951 and in consultation with the central government,” the Manipur Chief Electoral Officer’s Office said in a release. Friday night.

The decision was made considering that some people belonging to SoO and MoU groups residing in 14 designated camps in Manipur have been registered in the voter rolls of various parliamentary constituencies in the state.

The ECI has directed that these voters should be allowed to vote by mail, taking into account their right to vote, as they cannot leave the designated camps above.
