His roles like Bhatia from Office Office and Dilbagh Singh from Singh Is Kinng, among others, have earned him recognition. He also appeared alongside the late legendary actor Rishi Kapoor in the Anubhav Sinha-directed film Mulk. Pahwa recalls having meals with his co-star while the movie was being made in a recent interview.

Manoj Pahwa spoke with presenter Samdish Bhatia on the Unfiltered By Samdish YouTube show about the day he had lunch with Rishi Kapoor while filming Mulk. “He used to have a chef from the Taj hotel. Because he was a Kapoor, his food was placed across the whole table.

Pahwa further disclosed that Anubhav Sinha had informed him that Pahwa’s casting as Bilal Ali Mohammed was being questioned by every member of the latter’s team. That was the case as a result of his reputation for playing comedic roles, such as Bhatia in Office Office. However, he said, Anubhav Sinha was sure of his choice. He added that after his role as Bilal in Mulk, people began to take him seriously as an actor.
