Marco Jansen didn’t think about IPL: Ashwell Prince hails SA pacer for his ‘battle’ with Jasprit Bumrah

Former South Africa opener Asheville Prince vs young pacer Marco Jansen did not ‘hold back’ against Jasprit Bumra in recently concluded Test series Bumrah gave high praise for putting his country above ties in the IPL in the battle against the Indian bowlers.

Interestingly, both Bumrah and Jansen are part of the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2021. While Bumrah has been retained by the five-time IPL champion, the young Proteas pacer will be up for auction. Janssen picked 19 wickets in his opening series and troubled the Indian batsman with his disciplined bowling.

In the second Test match in Johannesburg, Janson and Bumrah had a heated altercation. Jensen’s second inning at Johannesburg saw both engaged in a heated exchange in response to Bumrah’s short ball. Bumrah responded with a stare after dismissing the SA pacer in the first inning of the third Test, but Prince was impressed with Jensen.

“Another thing I especially liked about the #SAvIND series is that #MarcoJansen didn’t back down once in the fight against Bumrah! He didn’t think about the IPL and how it affected his relationship with the people there. He said his country’s first One, it should be,” Prince wrote on his official Twitter profile.
