Meri to nikal padi, Anupam Kher exclaims as Karthikeya 2 becomes a box office success

Anupam Kher is ecstatic that his second film following The Kashmir Files’ triumph is likewise a box office success. In the Telugu film Karthikeya 2, which has already grossed 16.30 crore for its Hindi adaptation, the actor plays Dr. Dhanvanthri Vedpathak.

Anupam shared a picture from the movie on Instagram, writing, “The Kashmir Files ke baad meri Karthikeya 2 film bhi blockbuster hai! I’m on a roll right now. (My film Karthikeya 2 became a hit after The Kashmir Files.) Thank you @abhishekofficl, @actor nikhil, @chandoomondeti, and @anupamaparameswaran96. Thanks to the entire crew for this outstanding achievement! Book your tickets now since “truly, anything may happen” is the hashtag for the current theatrical release.”

The mystery and adventure movie Karthikeya 2 was written and directed by Chandoo Mondeti. Dr. Karthikeya (Nikhil Siddhartha), the protagonist of the movie, is searching for Lord Krishna’s misplaced anklet. Anupama Parameswaran and Srinivasa Reddy are also featured in the movie.

48 crore rupees were made by Karthikeya 2 in its first week of release. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the most recent box office data for the Hindi version of the movie on Twitter on Tuesday, stating that “#Karthikeya2 remains the top pick of moviegoers… scores consistently in big pockets… [Week 2] Fri: 2.46 billion, Sat: 3.04 billion, Sun: 4.07 billion, and Mon: 98 lakh. 16.30 crores in total. Hindi version of #India business.

Ram Gopal Varma, the director of the movie, was all praise for it and even compared Chandoo Mondeti to SS Rajamouli. On Saturday, he tweeted: “K2 (Karthikeya 2) is a bigger blockbuster than @ssrajamouli’s RRR and @Prashant neel’s KGF2… Actor Nikhil’s Karthikeya 2, produced by @abhishekofficl on second Friday doing double collections of Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan proves that. Best wishes to @chandoomondeti.

The Kashmir Files, which debuted earlier this year and earned over 300 crore, is the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022. It is under Vivek Agnihotri’s direction.

Family Star review

The Hindustan Times’ review of the movie Family Star, starring Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Parasuram Petla, suggests that the film struggles to make a mark or entertain, with issues reminiscent of Geetha Govindam (2018). The film tests patience and fails to maintain interest as it progresses.

The review criticizes the plot of Family Star, stating that it is thin and defies logic, making it difficult to enjoy. It also suggests that the film’s portrayal of middle-class life is caricaturish, as if it was written by someone unfamiliar with the realities of such a life.
