Nia Sharma says she gets awkward when people call her hot or pretty: ‘I cant digest it’

She may have been on Asia’s Sexiest Women list more than once, but actress Nia Sharma said she was embarrassed about receiving compliments about her appearance or body. In a recent interaction, Nia admitted that she’s still not used to reacting to such compliments.

Nia started her television career more than a decade ago, but around 2016, her profile took a turn. In the same year, she was also named one of the sexiest women in Asia by an international magazine, a fact that Nia struggled to accept.

Talking to Pinkvilla, Nia talks about how she can never get used to being complimented. “Sometimes it’s just a matter of thanking the other person for complimenting you. But somehow, I can’t. I can’t digest it. I was told, ‘Nia you look beautiful, you’re hot,’ and I thought, ‘Why would he tell me wrong things’ because I don’t understand.”

Family Star review

The Hindustan Times’ review of the movie Family Star, starring Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Parasuram Petla, suggests that the film struggles to make a mark or entertain, with issues reminiscent of Geetha Govindam (2018). The film tests patience and fails to maintain interest as it progresses.

The review criticizes the plot of Family Star, stating that it is thin and defies logic, making it difficult to enjoy. It also suggests that the film’s portrayal of middle-class life is caricaturish, as if it was written by someone unfamiliar with the realities of such a life.
