Parts of Delhi to receive light drizzle today

The Meteorological Department of India said that due to the interference from the west, it is expected that there will be light rain in parts of the country’s capital on Friday. However, this is unlikely to significantly affect the air quality in the city, which was still in the “very poor” category on Thursday.

Delhi may also record light fog on Friday, with the highest and lowest temperatures around 20 degrees Celsius and 8 degrees Celsius.

At the same time, the air quality index (AQI) on Friday morning remained “very poor”, with an hourly average AQI of 367 at 7 am. According to the announcement of the Central Pollution Control Commission on Thursday, the city’s overall AQI was 368 (very poor), slightly lower than Wednesday’s 363.

Delhi recorded a relatively cold day on Thursday, with the highest temperature stabilizing at 19.8 degrees Celsius, 3 degrees below the normal level for this season, although the lowest temperature rose for the third consecutive day, reaching 8.7 degrees Celsius.

Data shows that the highest value on Thursday is the lowest value so far in the city this season. The temperature on December 3 was also 19.8°C. Scientists from IMD also said that starting on Saturday, the temperature may drop below 6°C.

IMD scientist RK Jenamani said that this western interference is rather weak, just like the first two times in the first week of December, and will bring the least rainfall to Delhi.

“It will bring snow to the mountains, but there is very little change in Delhi,” he said.
