Railway upgrades Mumbai-Delhi August Kranti Rajdhani Express train with Tejas rakes

Officials said that Indian Railways added the Mumbai-Nizamuddin August Kranti Rajdhani express train equipped with an upgraded Tejas rake, making it the fourth Rajdhani train equipped with Tejas smart sleeper coaches.

The railway added these rakes in the Delhi-Mumbai Rajdhani Express, Agartala-Anand Vihar Rajdhani Express and Rajendra Nagar-New Delhi (Patna Rajdhani) Express. In July 2021, the first Rajdhani to be upgraded with Tejas rake was Delhi-Mumbai Rajdhani, followed by Agartala-Anand Vihar Rajdhani Express.

By using Tejas smart buses, Indian Railways aims to shift to predictive maintenance rather than preventive maintenance. The Ministry’s official announcement stated: “The launch of this modern Tejas sleeper train for long-distance travel is another paradigm shift that the Indian Railways has undertaken to enhance the passenger travel experience.”

These new rakes have special intelligent functions that can improve the safety and comfort of passengers. Smart buses will provide passengers with world-class facilities with the help of smart sensor-based systems. It is equipped with passenger information and bus computing unit (PICCU) that provide GSM network connection. According to media reports, the railway has decided to introduce smart passenger cars to all Rajdani Express trains operating in the country in phases.

“Each coach is equipped with six cameras for live recording. These coaches are also equipped with CCTV cameras with day and night vision, facial recognition and network video recorders even in low light conditions. All main entrance doors They are all centrally controlled by guards. The train will not start until all doors are closed,” the official added.

“In the event of a fire, all coaches are equipped with automatic fire alarm and detection systems. Food storage rooms and electric vehicles have automatic fire extinguishing systems to prevent a fire from being detected,” the official added.

Bengali actor Partha Sarathi Deb, aged 68, passed away at a Kolkata hospital while undergoing treatment, according to his family.

Partha passed away at 11:50 pm on Friday night due to COPD-related ailments. He had been admitted to state-run M R Bangur hospital for the last month, and his condition worsened over the past week, and he was in the ICU.

Actor Jeet expressed sadness over the loss of colleague and WBAF committee member Partha Sarathi Deb on X, sharing a photo and offering condolences to his bereaved family and friends.

Actress Rupanjana Mitra announced the news on Facebook, writing a lengthy note in Bengali.

Partha, the vice president of the West Bengal Motion Picture Artists Forum, condoled the death of actor Amit Shah and announced that his body would be taken to Technician Studio, a familiar place for him.

The forum is deeply saddened by the actor’s passing and will keep his remains at Technician’s Studio on March 23, where his loved ones, teammates, and well-wishers can pay their last respects.
