Ranvir Shorey’s father filmmaker KD Shorey dies at 92

On Saturday morning, actor Ranvir Shorey announced on social media that his father, Krishan Dev Shorey, had passed away on Friday at the age of 92. On Saturday, the actor posted a picture of his late father and a message about his passing on Twitter. His “biggest source of inspiration and protection,” according to the actor.

“My dear father, Krishan Dev Shorey, died away peacefully last night at the ripe old age of 92, surrounded by his children and grand children,” Ranvir said with a photo of his father grinning for the camera. He leaves behind many admirers and beautiful memories. My greatest inspiration and shield are no longer with me.

Fans and industry friends of Ranvir as well as coworkers shared their sympathies on the post. Raj Nayak, a television producer, wrote: “Sorry for your loss, Ranvir. May he rest in peace, his soul. Mihir Fadnavis, a writer and director, said, “So sad for your loss Ranvir.” “Sorry to hear about it..no one can replace Father and mother’s love.. Om Shanti,” one of the actor’s fans wrote in response to the actor’s post.

Krishan Dev Shorey, or KD Shorey as he was more commonly known, was a producer of movies in the 1970s and 1980s, including Zinda Dil, Be-Reham, and Bad Aur Badnaam. In addition, he was the director of the 1988 movie Maha-Yuddh, which had performers including Paresh Rawal, Mukesh Khanna, Kader Khan, and Gulshan Grover.

The trailer for Parasuram Petla’s Family Star, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur, has been released ahead of its release on April 5. The film’s team shared the trailer on social media, and Mrunal Thakur visited a temple in Hyderabad ahead of the promotion.

‘Go celebrate in theatres’

Vijay shared the trailer of a film on his X-Men page, urging fans to celebrate summer with laughter, cheer, and relive the movie. The trailer begins with Vijay praying to God to not let anything take away from his life. Mrunal, his neighbor, seems to fall for him before he does. The story moves to the US, where Vijay works under her. However, Mrunal becomes angry with her, and the trailer ends with her slapping him in anger.

Family Star promotions

Vijay and Mrunal launched Family Star promotions in Hyderabad during Holi, dressed in white and interacting with fans. They even danced to the song Kalyani Vacha Vacha from the film. Mrunal shared a video on Instagram showing her applying gulaal on Vijay. The team released a new single called Madhuramu Kadha. Before the event, Mrunal visited Sri Yellamma Pochamma in Hyderabad and posed with fans.

Upcoming work

Vijay is set to star in a period drama with Gautham Tinnanuri in Mrunal’s third Telugu film, Family Star. The film will feature cameos by Divyansha Kaushik and Rashmika Mandanna. Mrunal is also set to star in the upcoming Hindi film Pooja Meri Jaan.
