UP Tops NITI Aayog Health Index In Terms Of Incremental Change

According to the fourth health index launched by Niti Aayog, Uttar Pradesh performed best in the increase in health performance in the larger state, while Mizoram performed well in the smaller state category.
The fourth round of health index considered 2019-20 (as a reference year).

The government think tank’s report stated: “Uttar Pradesh ranks among the top in terms of incremental performance, with the highest incremental change from the base year (2018-19) to the reference year (2019-20).”

It also stated that from the base year (2018-19) to the base year (2019-20), Uttar Pradesh led the way in 33 out of 43 indicators/sub-indicators.

“On the other hand, Kerala has only improved on 19 indicators, and another 3 indicators have been fully achieved,” the report said.

The report added that although Kerala is in a leading position in terms of overall performance, nearly half of its indicators/sub-indicators have deteriorated or stagnated.

According to the report, Uttar Pradesh, Assam and Telangana showed the largest annual incremental performance among the larger states, and Mizoram and Meghalaya among the smaller states showed the largest In UT, Delhi and J&K showed the largest annual incremental performance.

According to the report, the health index is a weighted comprehensive score that contains 24 indicators covering key aspects of health performance.

The health index includes selected indicators in three areas-health outcomes, governance and information, and key inputs and processes.

The report was prepared in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) with technical assistance from the World Bank.

According to the official statement, MoHFW decided to link the index to the incentives of the national health mission, re-emphasizing the importance of this annual tool.

It added that this helped shift the focus from budget expenditures and inputs to outputs and results.

She also mentioned that she had not had a single hit for 7-8 years before Queen, but after that, she had a few good movies.
