WhatsApp ‘entirely’ back online after hours of outage. Here’s what its CEO said
After a major interruption for several hours, WhatsApp and other services are being relaunched. Will Cathcart, CEO of WhatsApp, stated that WhatsApp “has now fully returned to normal operation.”
“We are now fully back to normal operations. We know that people cannot use WhatsApp today to connect with their friends, family, businesses, community groups, etc.-this is a humble reminder of how much people and organizations rely on our apps every day. “Mr. Cascart wrote on Twitter. He said he was very grateful to all those who worked hard to restore the service, “We take our mission seriously, and I thank all those who work hard to restore our service with the reliability you expect from WhatsApp.
We will learn and grow from it, and Continue to work hard to provide you with a simple, safe and reliable private messaging application.”
On Monday night, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram faced major global disruptions, and thousands of users, including India, were unable to use these digital platforms. Downdetector, a website monitoring organization, showed disruptions in densely populated areas in North America and parts of Europe.
Users who tried to access Facebook in the affected area received the message: “Something went wrong. We are working hard and we will fix it as soon as possible.” “We know that some people have problems accessing our apps and products,” Facebook spokesperson Andy Stone said on Twitter, echoing similar statements made by Instagram and WhatsApp.
Facebook owns the photo-sharing platform Instagram and the messaging platform WhatsApp. It is estimated that the power outage started around 9pm. Users complained about not being able to use any of these three services. “We know that some people have problems accessing our apps and products. We are working hard to get everything back to normal as soon as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused to you,” a Facebook spokesperson said. The company did not specify the cause of the global power outage.

Surfaces of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra with Snapdragon 8S Gen 3
Early this week, renders of the Edge 50 Fusion appeared, and Motorola has previously stated that the Edge 50 Pro will ship on April 3. The highest-end smartphone in the Edge 50 series, the Edge 50 Ultra, has now been shown in renders.
The phone is depicted in the renderings in peach fuzz and black with a vegan leather finish, while sisal, a beige color, will have a brushed surface. As opposed to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 in the Pro variant and the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 in the Edge 50 Fusion, the phone is reportedly powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC.
A 50MP primary camera, an ultra-wide camera, and a periscope telephoto camera with a 5x optical zoom are all included in the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra’s feature set. Additionally, there is a triple LED flash on the right side and a laser autofocus feature above the periscope lens.
Although the phone’s display, battery, and charging specifications are yet unknown, the Edge 50 Pro is said to include 12GB of RAM and support both 50W and 125W wired and wireless charging.
It is anticipated that this will launch as the Motorola X50 Ultra in China. It is unclear if the India launch may be expected on the same day as the rest of the Edge 50 series phones, even if this is scheduled to go official on April 3.
