Maharashtra and Delhi had 454 cases and 351 cases respectively, the largest increase in the total number of the country. This variant has now been reported in 23 states and federal territories. The Ministry pointed out that of all the cases, 488 people have recovered and been discharged from the hospital. In the past 24 hours, as many as 8,949 people across the country recovered from Covid-19. The total number of people recovered reached 34,275,312, and the overall recovery rate was 98.32%.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) stated that 1,110,855 samples were tested for disease on Friday, and 678,989,110 tests have been performed so far.
