The spread of Omicron led to the New Year’s New Year. The metro city is its main target, which is why the police imposed strict restrictions in Delhi, Mumbai and other metro cities. Omicron has caused a surge in the number of coronavirus (Covid-19) cases globally and in India. On Friday, the last day of 2021, Delhi recorded 1,796 new Covid-19 cases, while the number of cases in Maharashtra soared by 8,067 cases.

Maharashtra State Disaster Management Minister Vijay Wadtivar said on Friday that the phase of implementing a new blockade in the state is coming, but Chief Minister Udhav Thackeray will make the final decision on this.

After the spread of Omicron, the government of Maharashtra has imposed new restrictions, limiting the number of people attending weddings and other gatherings.
