Republic Day: DD installs special cameras for 360-degree coverage
Public service broadcaster Doordarshan (DD) has installed dozens of cameras, including two for bird’s-eye views from the top of India Gate and Rajpat, as it plans 360-degree coverage of Republic Day celebrations, which also It will be broadcast live. Streaming on two YouTube channels.

DD has deployed 59 cameras from Rashtrapati Bhawan to the National Stadium for coverage. Up to 33 cameras have been installed in Rajpath, 16 in National War Museum, India Gate, National Stadium and 10 in Rashtrapati Bhawan.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has sent separate letters to affiliated schools, asking them to encourage students, teachers and their families to register to watch the live broadcast of the Republic Day parade and the Retirement Ceremony.
It asked schools to play five promotional films developed by the Defense Department during recess showing the highlights of Republic Day 2022.
“In light of the recent surge in Covid cases, the Ministry of Defence has proactively invited citizens to watch the live broadcast of the Republic Day and Defeat Retreat Ceremony and expressed their solidarity with the Republic of India,” one said in a letter to the heads of CBSE-affiliated schools last week. It said the ministry’s website www.indianrdc.mod.gov.in and a YouTube channel would host the events virtually.
