SJ Suryah claims that for his OTT debut, Vadhandhi, he had to tone down his “exaggerated” acting style: “I had to drop that look”

SJ Suryah is set to make his OTT debut with the upcoming release of Vadhandhi. In a recent interview, Suryah claimed that he had to tone down his “exaggerated” acting style for the role.

“I had to drop that look,” Suryah said of his decision to dial back his usual over-the-top performance style. “It was a conscious decision on my part to make sure that I didn’t go too overboard with my acting in this one.”

Suryah went on to say that he believes audiences will appreciate the more restrained approach he took to his character in Vadhandhi. “I think people will see the difference in my performance in this film and appreciate it,” he said.

It will be interesting to see how Suryah’s more subdued performance style plays out on screen in Vadhandhi. It remains to be seen whether or not audiences will be won over by his change of pace.

Family Star review

The Hindustan Times’ review of the movie Family Star, starring Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Parasuram Petla, suggests that the film struggles to make a mark or entertain, with issues reminiscent of Geetha Govindam (2018). The film tests patience and fails to maintain interest as it progresses.

The review criticizes the plot of Family Star, stating that it is thin and defies logic, making it difficult to enjoy. It also suggests that the film’s portrayal of middle-class life is caricaturish, as if it was written by someone unfamiliar with the realities of such a life.
