Anurag Kashyap discloses that during the Tenet filming, customs detained Christopher Nolan’s equipment.
Anurag Kashyap has frequently discussed how independent film is not supported in India. In his recent media appearances, the director has given examples of how independent filmmakers, such as Payal Kapadia, do not even receive reimbursement for their work, despite the fact that they represent India with pride at Cannes 2024. Anurag revealed alarming details about Christopher Nolan’s treatment by Indian officials while he was filming for Tenet in Mumbai in an interview with Fever FM.
According to Anurag Kashyap, Indian film is not powerful.
“There was a film body that was supporting people like Shyam Benegal and Govind Nihalani, but now, even the subsidies with which certain states lure filmmakers take up to eight years to arrive,” the Bad Cop actor said, pointing out the lack of a support system for filmmakers. Much of it is merely theater. One day, you ought to discuss the difficulties Christopher Nolan’s crew faced when attempting to film Tenet in India. You will be amazed at how they handled him. Customs was holding his gear. Countless tales exist. Let’s quit deluding ourselves into believing that the film industry is supported by a system.

Screenwriter Anurag began his career writing scripts for movies such as Satya and Kaun. The dialogue in E Niwas’s Shool, which starred Manoj Bajpayee and Raveena Tandon, is also credited to him. Later, he made his directing debut in the unreleased film Paanch. Subsequently, the director directed Black Friday, his second picture, which took over five years to premiere since it dealt with a sensitive subject—the 1993 Mumbai explosions. But Anurag became well-known thanks to Gulaal and Dev D. Mukkabaaz and Gangs of Wasseypur—1 and 2—are regarded as two of his best movies. Additionally, his web series Sacred Games – Seasons 1 and 2 gained a lot of popularity. The play was inspired by the same-titled novel by Vikram Chandra.

Gulshan Deviah’s character, Anurag, will be next seen in the criminal series Bad Cop. He is also portraying a villainous character in Vijay Sethupathi’s Maharaja. Kennedy, the film he will soon be directing, made its Cannes Film Festival debut in 2023.

Food blogger attacked by Swara Bhasker for boasting about being a vegetarian on Twitter: “Smug self-righteousness”
In response to food blogger Nalini Unagar’s “proud to be a vegetarian” tweet, actor Swara Bhasker attacked Unagar. On Sunday, Nalini posted a photo of her lunch at X. It included a paneer dish and fried rice.
What was said by the food blogger?
Nalini shared the picture and added, “I’m happy to be a vegetarian. There are no more tears, cruelty, or guilt on my platter.”
This is Swara’s response.
In response, Swara penned, “To be honest… I find vegetarians’ arrogant self-righteousness to be incomprehensible. Denying the calf its mother’s milk, forcing cows to become pregnant, ripping them from their calves, and taking their milk are the main components of your diet.”
Furthermore, she said, “You eat root vegetables? That eliminates the entire plant! Just because it’s Bakr Eid, don’t stress about virtue signalling (folded hands emojis). June 16–17 is when Bakr Eid, or Eid al-Adha, is observed.
Swara just had her Eid celebration.
A few months after celebrating Eid al-Fitr, Swara posted a tweet. She celebrated the occasion with her daughter Raabiyaa and spouse Fahad Ahmad. On her Instagram Stories, Swara posted snippets of her Eid festivities. Swara and Raabiyaa were shown in one of the stories pointing at the Eid ka Chaand. Another photo shows Swara, her daughter, and Fahad posing as a family. Fahad is Muslim, but Swara is Hindu.

Swara performed a chhathi puja for Raabiyaa the previous year. She revealed tidbits from the festivities and reported discovering shared cultural experiences with Fahad’s family. “The child is a mish mash of the mish mash we are,” Swara had wrote. She therefore has 62.5% UP, 12.5% Bihar, and 25% Andhra. Furthermore, I support representation and am always up for a celebration! Furthermore, since our wedding, we’ve learned that Muslims and Hindus in North India have common cultural customs, which strengthens my conviction that, despite our variety, love and joy will always find a language.”
“Chhathhi, or the sixth day of a child’s birth, is celebrated throughout UP Bihar. Mom and kid dress in the colour of turmeric or haldi, and aunts or bua put kaajal on the child and parents to protect them from ‘nazar,’ or the evil eye! I’m performing a well-known “sohar”—celebration songs for new babies. Although sohars are often used to celebrate newborn boys, I customised it for a newborn girl—oh! And although sisters and aunts sing the sohars, mothers don’t, so I thought, “Why not?” Dholak aa gaya hai!
