Does Acupressure Works! Know-How To Cure Diseases With Acupressure

Acupressure uses the same theory of acupuncture, which is to heal health issues and diseases and promote relief. Acupressure holds its roots back in China. As per a Chinese theory, certain acupressure points are targeted under this therapy. The energies that connect all the organs in the body are called meridians. Symptoms of any ailments can be witnessed in a body when one of the meridians is blocked or out of balance. Acupressure therapy wasn’t earlier supported by all practitioners as they never believed in meridians.
Acupressure specialists apply pressure on meridians by using fingertips, palms, elbows, feet or special devices meant for the therapy. Sometimes, if acupressure points don’t work for patients, stretching is also an option to cure ailments. For the therapy, the patients are made to lie down on a clothed massage table and then the therapist presses the points accordingly.. The time taken for normal acupressure therapy is about 1 hour. Regularity as said is always needed for everything, so does this therapy, it needs regular seating to obtain the best results that help in achieving the goals and objectives.
There are n numbers of acupressure points that are considered for the therapy, however, only a few are majorly used. A few examples are given below.
- Large intestine 4 (L14): This point is located between the thumb and the forefinger that is the soft fleshy web.
- Liver 3 (LR-3): This point located at the top of the foot from the space between the biggest toe and the next toe.
- Spleen 6 (SP 6): This point is located above the inner ankle having a width of about three fingers.
The main agenda of acupressure therapy is to keep negative forces away and to balance the body with positive ones. Few ailments cured using acupressure therapy are:
- Nausea: Wrist acupressure points starting at the palms located between tendons on inside the wrist are beneficial to cure nausea feeling after surgery, chemotherapy, motion sickness, and morning sickness during pregnancy.
- Headache: The acupressure points for headache cure are located between the thumb and forefinger. Apart from headaches, this point can be utilized for low back pain too.
- Symptoms of cancer: Acupressure therapy is beneficial for reducing cancer symptoms. These points balance out energies reduce stress, improve energy levels as well as provide some relief from pain.
- Arthritis: All kinds of arthritis cannot be cured by acupressure. The therapy releases endorphins and helps promote anti-inflammatory effects.
- Depression and anxiety: These massages just not only cure physical ailments, but emotional ailments related to fatigue mood or anxiety too are reduced to a great extent.
This therapy is safe as long as the therapist is licensed and well experienced. There are certain limitations of conducting this therapy for patients who have a spinal injury, bone disease, cancerous tumor, varicose veins, and pregnant women.
This Therapy should be avoided over open wounds, bruises or swollen parts or else it will lead to more harm than good.
