Dolly Chaiwala: “Didn’t Know Who He Was” in reference to giving Bill Gates tea
Dolly Chaiwala, who gained fame after a viral video of him serving tea to Bill Gates, revealed that he initially didn’t recognize the Microsoft co-founder until the clip surfaced on social media.
In a conversation with ANI, a Nagpur tea seller admitted to serving tea to a foreigner, unaware of the identity. The next day, upon returning to Nagpur, he realized who he had served tea to, expressing his gratitude for the service.

Bill Gates, standing beside him, greeted him with a witty “Wow, Dolly ki Chai” after he finished his tea, despite the lack of conversation.
Dolly, a Nagpur tea seller, shared that she has not adopted the unique outfit style but has copied it from South movies she watches.
The tea seller expressed his desire to sell tea to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that he feels like ‘Nagpur ka Dolly Chaiwala’ and plans to serve tea to Modi in the future.
Chaiwala expressed a desire to sell tea with a smile throughout his life, eagerly awaiting the return of these smiles.
The social media video features Bill Gates in the frame, requesting “One chai, please.”

The video, which was released online, quickly gained millions of views.
Dolly Chaiwala initially planned to film the video in Nagpur, where his tea stall is located, but it was later rescheduled to Hyderabad.
A popular tea seller claimed that he was invited to Hyderabad to prepare his signature tea style, but was unaware of Bill Gates.
