ED summons Rakul Preet, Rana Daggubati and other actors in connection with drugs case
There are also reports of many actors taking drugs in the South Indian film industry. The ED has issued summons to the actors of South Industry in this regard.
According to reports, in connection with the 4-year-old drug case, the ED has summoned several actors including Rakul Preet, Rana Daggubati and all will have to appear before the authorities in September.
The Telangana Excise Department had registered cases in 2017 by seizing drugs worth Rs 30 lakh, following which the ED initiated money laundering proceedings. For which the agency has asked top stars like Rakul Preet Singh, Ravi Teja, and Rana Daggubati to appear before its officials for questioning.
According to reports, these stars have been made a witness for now. The ED has also issued summons to ‘Pokiri’ director Puri Jagannath. These Tollywood celebrities are yet to be made witnesses till the evidence is found.
An official associated with the agency shared, We have called excise officials as witnesses. Similarly, till we get the evidence, Tollywood celebrities will be considered witnesses. Their names have come up in the investigation.

Kangana Ranaut has denied speculations about joining politics solely due to the box office failure of her films.
Kangana Ranaut, the BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Mandi for the 2024 elections, expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for her political entrance. In an interview with Times Now, she questioned whether she joined politics due to her movies’ poor box office performance, comparing it to Shah Rukh Khan’s previous unsuccessful films.

Kangana responded to a question about her career, stating that she has never had a flop. She compared Shah Rukh Khan’s films to Pathaan, Queen, and Manikarnika, noting that if she had a flop in Emergency, it would be a big hit. Kangana compared her career to Shah Rukh Khan, who had consecutive flops for ten years. She also mentioned that she had not had a single hit for 7-8 years before Queen, but after that, she had a few good movies.
No stars from OTT?
The last generation of stars, known for their talent and demand, are now able to showcase their talents more through OTT. However, the author expresses a desire to involve themselves more with the real world, rather than being consumed by the arts, stating that they are not satisfied with the current status quo.
