The Muslim community all over the world makes special preparations for the Haj every year, but this time they are disappointed. In Saudi Arabia this year only 1000 Muslim pilgrims will be able to perform Haj. The Haj pilgrimage will begin on July 29 this year. Out of 1000 pilgrims, there will be no one outside Saudi Arabia. Muslims of various nationalities already living in the country have been allowed to perform this ritual.
Every year, around 2.5 million people used to come to the holy city of Mecca for pilgrimage. This year, the rules have been changed in view of the corona epidemic. According to the new rules, people below 65 years will be able to go on the Haj pilgrimage and they should not have any serious illness.
The time of Hajj will be determined based on the sighting of the moon. Last month, Saudi Arabia asked to start the Haj pilgrimage with very limited people. According to the news agency AP, the highest number of cases in the Arab Gulf states have been reported in Saudi Arabia. So far 2,53,349 corona cases have been confirmed in Saudi. Of which 2,523 people have died.
Haj officials said, ‘This time a limited 1000 pilgrims will be allowed to go on Haj, even those who are already living in Saudi. Of this, 70 percent are foreigners and the rest are local residents here. Earlier in many media reports, it was claimed that 10,000 people can be allowed to join this yatra.
