In Multan, just a kilometre from the England team hotel, shots were fired before the second Test against Pakistan.
The England cricket team is currently in Multan, Pakistan, preparing for the second Test of a three-match series. However, their preparations were interrupted today when shots were fired near their hotel.
The England team was quickly moved to a secure location and is said to be unharmed. However, the incident will no doubt be a worrying one for both the team and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
This is not the first time that security has been an issue during an England cricket tour of Pakistan. In 2005, a number of players were injured when a bomb exploded near the team hotel in Karachi.
With tensions between Pakistan and England already high following the first Test, which Pakistan won by 10 wickets, today’s incident is sure to add to the pressure on the team. England will be hoping that they can put the incident behind them and focus on the task at hand, which is to try and level the series.

Huma Qureshi has expressed her support for Sania Mirza, despite the absence of her husband Shoaib Malik. Sania Mirza has travelled to Medina to offer prayers with her family, including her son Izhaan Mirza Malik, parents, sister, and husband.

Sania captioned the post, “Allhamdulillah (palms up together emoji) May Allah accept our prayers.” Irfan Pathan wrote, “Ameen,” Huma Qureshi posted, and Rakshanda Khan said, “May Allah accept all duas!” Sania Malik’s husband, Shoaib Malik, is not in the video.
Sania and Shoaib allegedly ended their 12-year-long marriage and welcomed their son Izhaan in 2018. They were seen hosting The Mirza Malik Show on Urduflix.
Anam and Sania are grateful for the opportunity to experience peace and joy in Alhamdulillah. Sania’s pilgrimage to Hyderabad was attended by many celebrities, including Mahesh Babu, Namrata Shirodkar, AR Rahman, Dulquer Salmaan, Huma Qureshi, and Diana Penty.
