IND vs NZ: Ajaz Patel emulates Laker, Kumble with historic 10-wicket haul

New Zealand’s Ajaz Patel (Ajaz Patel) became the only bowler in Test cricket history to score 10 wickets in a game. The left arm spinner achieved this feat in the second test of the series against India in Mumbai.

Patel joined England’s Jim Lakers and India’s Anil Kambre to become the only third bowler-all spinners-to score 10 wickets in the test round.

Patel scored 47.5 points in the first game of the Mumbai Test and conceded 119 goals from his ten goals. By the way, India’s Anil Kumble was the last pitcher to score 10 wickets. He achieved this feat in a test against Pakistan in Delhi in 1999.

The left-arm player completed four wickets on the first day of the test and continued his wonderful run in the morning of the second day. Although the prices of other spinners were much higher in comparison, Patel remained tense in his last moments and continued to deal regular blows to the Indian Bureau. Starting from the 85th inning of the Indian game, Ajaz Patel played a marathon until he was eliminated in 325 innings-during this period, he won three wickets, including Centurion Long Mayank Agarwal’s wicket, who scored a gritty 150.

Earlier on the first day, Ajaz shocked the Indian game with three quick wickets of Shubman Gill (44), Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli (all 0). Although Mayank fought back for India with Shreyas Iyer and Wriddhiman Saha for the rest of the day, Ajaz still absorbed the pressure from one end to prevent India from completely dominating the game of the day.

In the morning meeting, the spinner directly used Saha (27) and Ashwin (0)’s wickets to put India under pressure, and then ended India’s tail after lunch. With the final dismissal of Mohamed Siraj, Ajaz joined the elite clubs represented by the Lakers and Kambre.

Ajaz’s statistics are rightly New Zealand’s best bowler. The New Zealander’s previous best result was 9/52, which was achieved by the great Richard Headley in the 1985 game against Australia. Needless to say, Ajaz Patel broke multiple records with his incredible feats in Mumbai.
