Karnataka inks MoAs worth Rs 100.52 crore to promote emerging technologies

In order to promote the development of emerging technologies in the state, the Karnataka state government signed 3 MoAs (Memorandum of Association) worth 1.0052 billion rupees.

In the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav-Innovation and Localization of Karnataka-Gateway to Inclusive and Equitable Growth” jointly organized by Karnataka and DPIIT, according to the central government’s initiative “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”, A memorandum of understanding was signed on Friday. China Net Ashwath Narayan, Minister of Electronics, IT/BT and Technology of Karnataka.

Narayan said in his speech: “The centers of excellence that will be established under these MoAs are aimed at cultivating and promoting researchers, scholars, startups, and industries to develop ethically constrained technical frameworks, and to achieve the responsible deployment of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things. . Agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing, smart cities and education.”

The first MoA signed between Electronics, IT, BT and S&T, GoK and the Software Technology Park of India (STPI) was to establish an efficiency improvement center of excellence in Bangalore. He said that the center will support start-ups that use emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, and the Internet of Things to build products and solutions, and contribute to “Made in India” and “Digital India”.

Narayan explained that another MoA, tripartite agreement between Karnataka Innovation and Technology Association (KITS) GoK and I-Hub ARTPark aims to help create and maintain the next generation of artificial intelligence, robotics and advanced communication facilities (5G ) And help foster “technological entrepreneurship” activities.

He added that the government will provide 600 million rupees in financial assistance for the establishment of the Center of Excellence and its operations for a period of 5 years.

The third MoA is related to the establishment of the Ethical Internet of Things Center (CIET) in Bangalore at a cost of 22.92 crore, including KITS (Karnataka IT/Bt Innovative Technology Association), IIIT-Bangalore and the World Economic Forum (WEF) sign.

The proposed center will help formulate a policy framework related to the ethics and ethics of technology and is aimed at fostering the state’s thriving innovation ecosystem.
